Meet Lindy

I’m here to offer grounded, compassionate support as you navigate healing in your own time.

Hi, I’m Lindy. I’m really glad you’re here.

I don’t claim to know everything, or even very much. What I do know comes from living inside my own healing, my own questions, and a long and nonlinear journey toward feeling more at home in myself. That journey has shaped how I hold space for others, with care, humility, and respect for timing.

I began psychotherapy at fourteen after a traumatic event. While it was helpful in some ways, this was the 1990s, before trauma, attachment, and the nervous system were widely understood as they are now. For many years, I was trying to feel “okay enough,” often feeling overwhelmed, sensitive, or just crazy. At the same time, I felt a strong spiritual pull and, like many people, I chased transcendence and awakening, hoping it would finally fix my internal chaos.

That search led me through many paths.

I explored spiritual traditions beyond the Christian framework in which I was raised. I came to experience the sacred as expansive and inclusive. I found yoga in the late 1990s through meditation and mantra, which led me into energy work, deeper yogic study, massage school, and spiritual initiations. Later in life, I returned to school and earned a Master of Clinical Social Work, bringing clinical training into conversation with my spiritual and somatic roots.

Over time, I began to feel better, not because of any single approach, but through integration.

If you are looking for support that honors your whole being, your complexity, and your inner wisdom, and if it feels right to you, you are welcome here.

My work now lives at the intersection of nervous system regulation, the energy body, and attachment and relational healing.

Each step along the way has shaped the integrated perspective I work from today.

I value spirituality and also hold a clear commitment to avoiding spiritual bypassing, hierarchy, and harm. Life continues to bring real challenges, and I am continually doing my own work so that what I offer is grounded, ethical, and supportive. I am not perfectly calm or endlessly zen. I have a big personality. I have been to dark places, and I understand trauma and pain from the inside out.

What I offer comes not from having it all figured out, but from walking alongside others with steadiness, compassion, and respect for their lived experience.

Training & Credentials

I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Maryville College.

My background includes additional training in EMDR*, Dynamic Attachment Repatterning Experience (DARe), Safe & Sound Protocol, Rest & Restore Protocol, massage therapy, Integrative Hatha Yoga, Nādā & Mantra Yoga, Kuṇḍalinī Yoga and Meditation, Intrinsic Coaching, Polarity Therapy, along with various forms energy healing and spiritual initiation.

Rather than practicing any single modality in isolation, my work is guided by discernment, lived experience, and an attunement to what is most essential for each individual. I support clients in cultivating awareness, deep self connection, and practical tools that help them live with greater authenticity, alignment, and integrity in their Truth.

*Due to licensing and regulatory requirements, EMDR is offered exclusively to individuals living in WV through my clinical practice at The Counseling Nook. Learn more here.

When it comes to my work, I lead with…

  • I prioritize creating a safe container for every individual and class, as we can’t heal if we don’t feel safe.

  • I show up as I am and allow you to do the same, we make room for EVERYTHING that shows up, without judgment.

  • Connection is more than just feeling connected to someone else, it’s also the sense of being supported by a part of something much larger than ourselves.

  • When we can embody that everything is sacred, we learn to value the full spectrum of life’s experiences.
